Summit Park - Blue Ash Ohio
I’ve been on a quest to discover beauty close to home. It’s easy to think you have to travel to exotic locations to find beautiful scenes and locations, which I’ve discovered is far from the truth. My search took me to several local parks (Cincinnati has many fantastic city and state parks close by!), this time I went only 3 miles from home- Summit Park in Blue Ash.
The Observation Tower
The tower is a free attraction, measuring 153 feet tall. From the highest deck, you can see downtown Cincinnati and the Kings Island Eiffel Tower.
The park’s nature trails wind through wooded areas and border prairie habitats. Trails consist of smooth pavement, crushed gravel and soft mulch, serving walkers and runners of all types.
Another angle of the tower. The golden hour at Summit Park is truly beautiful.
Many Amazing Features
The park is such a great place for relaxing and enjoying nature. It includes:
A fishing pond
Two awesome playgounds, including a Nature Playscape
Double swings overlooking a Great Lawn
Walking paths
A dog park
During my walk, I caught a glimpse of something white out of the corner of my eye. On closer inspection, it was this beautiful little guy! He obviously was domesticated (and had a band around one leg), but seemed very happy to be free and eating as much grain as he could ever want.
I hope he found his way home, or to the South, before the cold weather set in….
Summit Park is a beautiful natural setting, with so much to offer. (And I almost neglected to mention the many restaurants at the eastern end of the park, serving food, drinks and ice cream!)
If you need a nature fix, a place for the kids or dog to play, or a bite to eat it’s a great place to land.
